Created in 2020, during the Covid-19 “lock-down,” while the globe was shuttered indoors, loss of life great, and commerce based on necessities for life and living. This ofrenda installation explored altar-making with limited means and access to paper, repurposed materials, and on-hand supplies only. The artist explores gestures in space-making and crafting and questions what is needed to create sacred space.
