A goal I’ve maintained in the roles I’ve embraced as a curator and as an arts organizer has been to increase the visibility of creative persons who are underrepresented in established arts and exhibition spaces in Houston and as participants in Houston’s creative ecology.

To address inequities in opportunities extended to artists like myself, I’ve generated creative projects and exhibition opportunities which promote working outside of established institutions and in alternative, artist-managed venues as well as in public space. Main Street Projects is the most prominent example of this effort.

As a curator active in Houston the nation’s most culturally diverse city — this work is underscored by the belief that sharing diversity of perspectives, and the blending of those perspectives, is the essence of our cultural wealth.
